The Executive Search Committee submitted an updated report on the search for a new principal. The committee has narrowed the field from 25 applicants down to the final seven. Initial interviews are scheduled for February 20th with the board interviewing the final three candidates on February 27th. Information on the final three candidates will be posted to http://laboard.lincolnacademy.net shortly after they are known on the 20th. The board will vote on the final candidate at the March 8th board meeting. On February 4, 2010, Mary Ann Mahoney, Janelle Johnson, and Rob Cox went before the Jefferson County Board of Education to renew our charter contract for another five years. After a few minutes of questions from the Jeffco Board, Lincoln’s contract was successfully renewed by a unanimous vote. The L.A. Board would like to extend a special thank you to Janelle for all of her hard work in preparing and presenting our contract renewal. The facilities committee’s next meeting is February 18th at 3:30 PM. At this meeting, plans for the gym will be discussed as well as a Request for Proposals will be put together for the work in the gym. The goal is to present a proposal to the board at the April board meeting for the gym improvements. This meeting will be followed by a technology meeting at 4:30 PM to apply for a technology grant.
