Welcome to the Lincoln Academy Board Corner!

May 2010
  • Thank you to everyone that entered their volunteer hours!  We increased our recorded hours by almost 2,500 hours.  If you have volunteered this year but have not entered your hours, please go to http://www.lincolnacademy.net/volunteers/mainscreen.php .
  • Congratulations to Ed Stankiewicz and Donna Randall who were both elected to a three year term on the Board!  If you are interested in serving on the Board or helping with one of our committees, please see one of your friendly Board members for more information.
  • The Board has elected new officers for the coming year. Here are the Board officers for the coming year:  President – Doug Neely, Vice-President – Derek Luyk, Treasurer – Ed Stankiewicz and Secretary – Kristi Geisz.
  • The Development Committee (chaired by Kristi Geisz) presented some exciting ideas to solicit corporate sponsorships for the school to help fund various projects.   If you know contacts at your company that work with sponsorship requests, grants, or charitable contributions, please contact Kristi Geisz with that information to help assist our efforts.  If you have experience in this area we'd love to hear from you! Kristigeisz@lincolnacademy.net
  • We invite you to read reports from our last board meeting and the committee reports that were presented at that meeting on our website:  http://laboard.lincolnacademy.net .
Q & A
Question: I have heard that Maranatha Christian Center (at 72nd and Oak) is for sale.  Is our school interested in purchasing the property?

Answer: The possible purchase of the Maranatha property is certainly interesting to consider.  The property is on 15 acres (compared to our current 2 acres).  As a board, though, we don’t feel we have enough information yet to make a decision on this possible acquisition.  We have a lot of questions we need answered before we could pursue this including how it will affect us financially, if this fits the overall mission of the school and if we can sell our existing property.  We are working with a variety of professionals to evaluate the suitability of the property for Lincoln Academy.  As we gather more information, we will share it with you, our community.  (Please do not contact Maranatha during this time as it could affect any negotiations.)

If you have a question that you would like to see answered, please email dougneely@lincolnacademy.net with your questions.
