Board of Directors January Meeting Highlights
​Here are a few highlights from our January Board meeting:
  • Mrs. Johnson reported that our One Day Count enrollment number was recorded as 499.  We had budgeted for 492.
  • Every year the Board works to make sure we budget conservatively.  Since our budget was created, we have seen an increase in our enrollment numbers as well as a larger than projected per pupil revenue (PPR).  Both of these increases combined will ensure that the school is able to stay in the black for this fiscal year.
  • Due to improved financial projections, the Board elected to eliminate any possible furlough days from this school year.    
  • The school’s Unified Improvement Plan was submitted to the district.  This plan focuses on improving math scores, especially among our middle school students.
  • Mrs. Johnson reported that Lincoln Academy has been selected by the Colorado Department of Education as a recipient of the Colorado 2011 Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award.
  • The SAC (School Accountability Committee) is still in need of volunteers.  
  • The Development Committee is working on the Laps for Education fundraiser for replacement of the gym floor.
  • The Board voted to post notice of its meetings on the bulletin board in the Lincoln Academy gym and on the school website.  This approval of a posting location must be done annually.
  • The Board conducted a self-evaluation.  Areas found in need of improvement included updating of Board policy documents, conducting a Board workshop to update the school’s strategic plan, and recruiting and training of new Board members. ​        

  • The next Board meeting will be on Monday, February 13, at 6:30 pm in the school library.
